Dammit they name dropped Snart again!

Stop it!

But don't stop!

Because I don't want him forgotten about.

But I also don't want to get my hopes up.

"There are no strings on us."

Oh, The Flash, do you really have to make an indirect reference to Leonard Snart? These types of things always get my hopes up.

In general, I liked this episode. I've been liking this season. A lot. But I've grown a tad tired of Cicada and the fact Team Flash always beats him and then lets him get away. I think Cicada should have been replaced around mid-season. Either by the female Cicada (from the future) and have her be more powerful or Thawne. I also think they should use the New Rogues more.

Yes, it's true, Snart is secretly a nerd. Not as nerdy as Ray or Nate but there are two scenes that draw attention to the fact that he does have some nerd tendencies.

The first is a scene in the first episode of Legends of Tomorrow. It's when he, Sara and Mick are returning from the bar and interrupt Chronos' attack and Snart calls Chronos, 'Boba Fett'.

Now it's not a surprise that Snart has seen Star Wars. He would have been a child when the movies were released and they likely were a big deal to him since he was a kid and it was Star Wars. Therefore Snart being familiar with the main characters wouldn't have been a surprise, instead however he mentioned Boba Fett, who while popular among Star Wars fans, maybe has 5 minutes of screen time between two movies. It's a reference that a casual fan of the movies wouldn't necessary know.

At the very least Star Wars was something important to Snart during his childhood. It's possible he had one of the dolls action figures and remembered the name from there.

But there's more than just the Star Wars reference.

In a Season 3 episode of the Flash (when Barry pulls Snart from the timeline), Snart makes a reference to watching Shark Week aboard the Waverider. He didn't just watch Shark Week, he memorized facts involving great white sharks.

He also had dinosaur pajamas as a kid.

And is smart enough to figure out complex security systems within seconds.

So yeah, Snart a bit of a nerd in addition to be a cool, snarky, cocky bastard.

I recently saw someone wondering why Snart wears a parka if he likes the cold. It's actually something I've thought a lot about over the years. It's easy to look at the parka and think he's naturally cold and needs it to keep warm.

But it's actually the opposite since he quite clearly says different times that he likes the cold and doesn't like the heat.

What I figure is it was probably cold when he first wore and kept it up afterwards because he was using it as part of his Captain Cold persona.

Notice that within the first couple of episodes of Legends he stops wearing it. Because he's no longer Captain Cold, he moves from being a villain to a hero. He even has that infamous line after Savage asks him who he is "Leonard Snart, Robber of ATMs". Not Captain Cold, not a supervillain.

Even before he joins the Legends he wasn't always wearing the parka. Barry interrupts his downtime at the bar in a couple of episodes and both times he's wearing a leather jacket. There's also a flashback during Season 3 of the Flash to show what Snart was doing the night the particle accelerator exploded, no parka. It's because he wasn't being Captain Cold in these incidences.

There is one time when Snart is wearing a parka before he becomes Captain Cold and it's when Mick travels to 2013 to say good-bye to him. We don't know what that time of the year that scene took place, it easily could have been cold out. But I also think they wanted Snart in something different rather than the jacket he was wearing all year to help show that it was a pre-Legends Snart. Plus much like Leo's eventual exit on the Flash, I think they wanted that last appearance of Snart to be wearing his traditional clothes that are most associated with him.

And then there's Leo. Like Snart, Leo wears a parka as part of his costume. But there's only two times he wears it aboard the Waverider. In Crisis on Earth-X when they're in a middle of the war and when he's about to leave to return to his own world. The rest of the time he's not wearing it. And unlike Snart he never switches to a lighter jacket, he just wears the sweater he normally wears under the parka. He also likes the cold.

So yeah, the parka is part of his costume and not something he wears because he's cold all the time. He likes the cold, doesn't hate it.

One of the cutest images from Season 1 of LoT is a very quick and you'll miss it moment of Snart holding his baby self.

Snart actually looks happy.

But it's actually not that surprising that he's good with kids. He's roughly 14 years older than Lisa. Or at least that's the difference in the actor's ages and known character birthdays are close in age to their actors. It's also stated that he tried protecting her from their father so it's not too much of a stretch that he helped raised her.

There's also the fact that in his very first episode of the Flash, he's shown giving a child some gum. So his soft spot for kids was always something there from the very beginning.

Even a murderer, liar and thief can have a weakness. :)

I might as well admit, I'm not looking forward to next year's crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths. Why? Because I like the multiverse.

I like the fact that out there on another earth Leo and Ray are happily living their lives together. In general I like that while Snart may be dead on Earth-1 there are many other earths out there where he is still alive. Because maybe somewhere out there, there is a Snart who is exactly like Earth-1 Snart with the exact same life, travelling with the Legends and the only difference is he didn't die.

And all that will be gone if there is no more multiverse.

I make it no secret that Snart and Leo are my favourite characters. Either Leo (and Ray) get moved over to the new Earth-1 therefore insuring that Earth-1 Snart never returns from the dead, or the new Earth-1 reverses Snart's death allowing him to be alive again making Leo gone forever. I lose either way and I'm not sure which would hurt more. I prefer Snart, but Leo's so damn happy. Even if Snart and Ray ended up hooking up, it's still not Leo.

I'm not even convinced that Snart, Leo and Ray will even get a mention next year. There's going to be so many actors/characters involved. I can see Snart or Leo being in it since both Legends and the Flash still make references to Snart and it's largely Wentworth Miller's choice for why he's currently not in the show. But I'm not sure they'd bother trying to get Russell Tovey back to be the Ray. It seems like CW has largely forgotten about the cartoon series they were doing so Ray just might be entirely left out.

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong and there will be a twist and the multiverse won't merge. I doubt it though since as soon as it was established that Supergirl was on another earth you knew a merge was going to happen at some point in order to get all the main characters on one earth.

I just wish I could be as excited as everyone else.

I love it when Dom posts things like this:

He regularly does it once a month and it fills me with warm joy each time. They truly have a great friendship, one that makes it a pleasure to watch them on screen together. I really do think they're the best on-screen duo and one of the (many) reasons why I want Wentworth back on Legends is so I can watch them together again.

Hopefully there's not much further delays in the next season of Prison Break since while I'm sure Wentworth will be back on Legends at some point I doubt it'll be this season so Prison Break Season 6 is probably going to be the next time they're together. And if they work on another project once they're finished with both shows, I'll follow them there too.

Earth-1 Alex's hair... it looks so bad on her! lol

"It's just one word, Superman." Barry is killing it with his lines in the crossover. I love dorky fun Barry. One of my biggest problems in the past couple of seasons was that Barry wasn't as fun anymore.

Gary! "You guys are my heroes, well not heroes, legends."

And that was my bad attempt at writing my thoughts down while watching the show and not waiting until afterwards like normal. After Cisco got introduced I stopped trying and instead just watched the show.

I liked evil Cisco, and evil James, but I was disappointed that James didn't get to do very much. It was an episode of Supergirl after-all and he got treated badly last year in Crisis on Earth-X as well. I know Cisco was important to the story but I wanted a little bit more time with James.

No Lena at all was a disappointment.

I liked how Kara got through to Earth-1 Alex. It doesn't matter what earth, Alex is still a good person who cares about people. But at the same time I missed our Alex. I wished she had arrived with Brainy, Lois, and J'onn.

Once again I find myself really liking Lois and Clark, which is weird because I've never been a huge fan of them in the past. I've never minded them, but they never made me think 'yeah, I ship that!'. But they are super cute here. Unfortunately Superman is my current prediction for dying during the next crossover in place of Kara who died in the comics.

One thing that did disappoint me however this was the first time the Earth-1 heroes met Brainy, the first time most of them had met Lois and the first time most of them had met J'onn (I can't remember if the J'onn reveal happened before or after Barry went to Earth-38 in Season 1). And it was just glossed over. I wanted a more "hi, who are you?" type thing.

Not seeing Kate again except for a cameo at the end was also a disappointment. I would have been fine with it if they hadn't spent so much time in the summer building up to Batwoman being this epic thing. What we had was great, but I want more.

I also have a rant coming ahead on Crisis on Infinite Earths which I'm saving for another post.

Overall though, I liked Elseworld. It was a fun crossover. It wasn't as good as Crisis on Earth-X but that would have been hard to top.

One thing that Crisis did really well was it was basically a movie while Elseworld was split in individual parts, which made me miss certain characters. For example Part 3 takes place in Central City, there was no reason why Iris couldn't have been included, but I don't remember her even getting a mention. I want to see all the characters interact, not just Oliver, Barry and Kara. Hopefully the movie format returns for Crisis on Infinite Earths.

But there was still a lot of stuff to like about Elseworlds. Barry being Oliver, Oliver being Barry, Batwoman, Barry in general, Clark and Lois, Kara, the Earth-1 version of Alex and James even if they were in a wrong reality, evil Cisco who is better at being evil here than Earth-2 Cisco, Gary, etc. No Beebo though, such a shame.

I like Batman fanboy Barry. <3

Batwoman was cool, but that's it? No. When the crossover was announced it made it seem like she was going to be in a big role. CW better follow through if her own show then.

I felt bad for Felicity, they really should have told her about the body swap. She was the only one who didn't know and then she felt like crap because Iris "knew something was wrong with Barry". No she didn't. Iris had zero clue until Barry talked to her while they were trying to get to Earth-38. Until then she was openly talking about how hot she thought "Barry"/Oliver was in front of Barry.

Kara had some really cute interactions with Kate. In particular I liked that Kara pointed out the "coincidence" that Batman and Bruce left Gotham at the same time. I'm not sure if that's just Kara being smart or if she knows Batman's identity on her own Earth. Speaking of Kara being smart though, they really should have let her handle things when they were getting mugged.

And I do wonder what happened to Bruce. Three years ago would be around the events of Season 2 of the Flash. I don't remember anything major happening, Flashpoint didn't happen until the end of the season.

It was nice seeing Malcolm again even if he was just a hallucination.

Only one more part to go. I do know a certain someone is in it which I'm curious to see and I know this is supposed to be building towards Crisis on Infinite Earths but I'm not sure how they're going to be able to resolve everything in only a little over 40 minutes. And what happened to Kara when the book was used again? Is she still on Earth-1 or is she back on Earth-38?

This episode reminded me why Arrow is my least favourite of the Beeboverse shows. Oliver is just way to serious for my liking, although I did like how towards the end of the episode he tried to be more like Barry with the smiling and thumbs up. I wouldn't mind Oliver becoming more fun if it also didn't involve Barry becoming darker (I'm totally with Iris and her concerns).

All-in-all though I liked the swapped body thing, even if I disagree that they need to start acting like each other to fully use the other's skills. I snickered when Barry was on board for having fun with the body swap until Oliver mentioned that he had woken up in Barry's bed with Iris in the apartment. I just really love small moments like that which remind us how much Barry loves Iris.

I'll admit that WestAllen was my NOTP for a long time, but they've won me over. The stuff about Iris being Barry's lightning rod always makes me melt, I like pairings that are stupidly in love with each other. I also liked their conversation at the end where Iris reminded Barry to remain true to himself. She gets it. That's more important than becoming the Green Arrow.

Strangely enough, I liked the stuff at Kent farm even though I'm not a big Superman fan. His previous appearances on Supergirl never left an impact on me, but I liked him here and I really liked Lois. I know from BTS pictures during filming that they're both back at some point in the crossover so hopefully it's not a too long of wait. And hopefully they'll both be making appearances in Supergirl after this.

And we finally got the answer for the ever long question of how do prisoner's go to the bathroom who are locked in the Star Labs cells. A good kick to the wall is all it takes, although I'm sure Barry could have gotten it out a little gentler.

One question though, where was Nora for the entire episode? I know she left the 100th episode by going back into the future but surely she wasn't gone that long since when she and Barry travelled to the past it was like no time had passed in the present.

I'm looking forward to seeing Batwoman's introduction in the next episode. Can't wait!

I'm slowly getting caught up on the other Beeboverse shows and this was the last one I had to watch before the crossover.

We might as well get it out of the way first that I think the Flash has been pretty great this season, the best its been since Season 1. It's a bit hard to believe it's been 100 episodes since I started watching the show (I was right there from the beginning). It doesn't feel it's been that long.

For the majority of the episode I thought things were solid. It was fun seeing Savitar, Zoom and Thawne again. My only nitpick is I really wish they had found a way to include Snart in the 100th episode since (at least for me) he was such an important part of that first season that made the show so successful.

I also want to draw attention to Ralph. I hated the character last season, I wanted him gone, he was a misogynistic pig. But he's so damn likable now! I loved it when he put 'Back In Time' on, that's the type of joke I expect on Legends, not the Flash. And as someone who grew up on BTTF, I love that song.

But then all the characters became so dumb against the battle against Cicada. Why did Cisco send the dagger into space when he could have sent it to another earth? There's no way Cicada would have gotten it back if it was on another earth. And they have one character on the show who has powers and is not a meta but they don't send her out to fight until the very end. They know the dagger was made from dark matter there was no reason for them to think it would affect Killer Frost. I hate it when characters have to be dumb for plot reasons.

The end reveal with Thawne though was really great. I was already hoping that Thawne was going to be the one pulling Nora's strings, she was obviously getting help from someone. But I didn't think they would actually go there.

Hopefully the Cicada plotline doesn't get dragged out for the rest of the season (a big problem with the previous two seasons). I want to see Thawne take over as the main villain of the season.
