I'm halfway through watching Season 2 of Iron Fist. It's actually pretty damn great, but one thing in particular I want to draw attention to is the inclusion of Misty this season.
One area where I think all the Marvel Netflix shows dropped the ball is not having them crossover nearly as often as they should. Sure in Season 2 of Luke Cage, Danny, Colleen and Foggy all got to be in their own episode, but it wasn't enough. I wanted more.
And it's something I don't understand why they didn't do more of.
CW has an excuse, all their Beeboverse shows film at the same time. You can't have Sara show up on Arrow when she's busy filming on Legends. Occasionally Arrow and the Flash will cross over the odd character but it's done through a lot of planning. And of course they have the yearly crossover.
But what's Netflix's excuse? All their shows filmed at different times.
And I'm not saying the main characters should have always crossover but more of the minor ones could have. Surely not every actor was busy with other work while these series were being filmed.
Claire was the only character who was regularly on multiple shows and they wrote her out. Unless Rosario Dawson asked for her release they shouldn't have done that. Danny needed a doctor an episode ago that could keep things hush-hush, why was Claire not brought back?
Anyway I love Misty's inclusion in this season. It's just a shame that Netflix realized too late that part of the fun of connected series is to see characters from multiple shows interact. Because as much as I enjoy this season of Iron Fist and as much as I enjoyed Season 2 of Luke Cage, I would rather have a show of Luke and Danny together and Misty and Colleen.
