The Flash - 100th Episode
I'm slowly getting caught up on the other Beeboverse shows and this was the last one I had to watch before the crossover.
We might as well get it out of the way first that I think the Flash has been pretty great this season, the best its been since Season 1. It's a bit hard to believe it's been 100 episodes since I started watching the show (I was right there from the beginning). It doesn't feel it's been that long.
For the majority of the episode I thought things were solid. It was fun seeing Savitar, Zoom and Thawne again. My only nitpick is I really wish they had found a way to include Snart in the 100th episode since (at least for me) he was such an important part of that first season that made the show so successful.
I also want to draw attention to Ralph. I hated the character last season, I wanted him gone, he was a misogynistic pig. But he's so damn likable now! I loved it when he put 'Back In Time' on, that's the type of joke I expect on Legends, not the Flash. And as someone who grew up on BTTF, I love that song.
But then all the characters became so dumb against the battle against Cicada. Why did Cisco send the dagger into space when he could have sent it to another earth? There's no way Cicada would have gotten it back if it was on another earth. And they have one character on the show who has powers and is not a meta but they don't send her out to fight until the very end. They know the dagger was made from dark matter there was no reason for them to think it would affect Killer Frost. I hate it when characters have to be dumb for plot reasons.
The end reveal with Thawne though was really great. I was already hoping that Thawne was going to be the one pulling Nora's strings, she was obviously getting help from someone. But I didn't think they would actually go there.
Hopefully the Cicada plotline doesn't get dragged out for the rest of the season (a big problem with the previous two seasons). I want to see Thawne take over as the main villain of the season.
